Our condolences to the family. Richard, Brenda and Amelia are our neighbours and we know how important dad aka grandpa was to them. Love hearing stories of the farm. The obituary sounds like a great tribute to a great man. We know he was loved and will be missed dearly. Thinking of his entire family at this time and sending heartfelt condolences.

My condolences to the family on your loss. Bob, aka (stump) was a mentor to myself and others when I first joined the carpenters union. His knowledge of scaffold and the rules pertaining to it were impressive to say the least. He was a man you knew not to cross and working with him on nights for nine months I got to know him well. He had a big heart and a great sense of humour. He talked about his family and his granddaughter a lot on night shift. Family was important to him. I am honoured to have worked with him.

Sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Worked with him many times over the years. Wasn't too many that could outwork Bob! Bob had quite a bark on him, but his bite was quite gentle. I missed him when he retired.

I first met Bob in early 1975 and car pooled with him, Art Legrand and Ben Nusink. On one of our several hundred trips to the BNPD, travelling up the Swamp road before it became Cty Rd 20, a car was stuck as it's front wheel had slide off the snow covered road. Bob and I got out, went into the ditch and Bob told me to lift and push the front of the car and he got beside me. I lifted and I pushed and nothing happened. Then Bob started to do the same, and low and behold, the car was back on the road.
Bob was a very powerful man, witty, humorous and could fix almost anything, and most of all, he was a good person.
