We are extending our deepest sympathy to all of you, in the sudden passing of Bob, a remarkable Man who touched many lives in his short life.
Bob could light up a room when he entered with his smile, laugh and genuine caring personality.
In our early years, Bob and his dad, mom and brothers were great neighbours to us, working together at the farms to get crops off, visiting and playing together, we have lots of great memories of those earlier years growing up.
When Bob met Phyllis, they had both found their soul mates and a new stage of life came about, with their horses and the shows they attended as a team. Phyllis we are so sorry you have lost your partner.
Bob will be greatly missed in all the communities that he once shined so bright. RIP Bob

As a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride the first person we would meet at the back lane way of the Royal Winter Fair at the Exhibition grounds was Bob Hammell. Bob would wheel up on his golf cart with a great big smile and say "Now what would you fellas need today". Bob was an Orchestra Leader, he could organize the movement of all of our 36 horses, tack, riders and 4 transport trucks, unloaded and squared away like he'd done it a thousand times, and he had. Years later when I was posted in Toronto, Bob was the first person I met at the Royal for over 20 years. His kindness, humour, experience, professionalism and knowledge made everyone's time and experience at the Royal the Best it could possibly be. Bob was a Master Class, you will not find another Bob Hammell, you could only hope the next person to serve his community comes close. Mister Robert Hammell, on behalf of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for your support and friendship over the many years, we thank you and we Salute You. To Mister Hammell's entire family we extend our sincere condolences. May the memories of a Great man carry you through this difficult time.
