Paul Fischer

Obituary of Paul Fischer

Paul Joseph Fischer, a resident of Brucelea Haven, Walkerton and formerly of Teeswater, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at the age of 85.

Loved and remembered by his wife Evelyn Fischer (née Harkness), children Jeff (Gayle) and Wanda, grandchildren Jenna, Connor (Des) and Ethan (Mason) and his pups, Tucker, Axel, Elliot and Emerson.

Dear brother of Tom Fischer, Lorna Lang, Ray Fischer (Judy), Anna Lou King (Barrie), Ted Fischer (Barb), Linda McKee (Jim), Leone Millen and Lenore Brick.

Fondly remembered by in-laws, Marlene Fischer, Elda Huber, Donald Harkness, Linda Ergang (Gordon) and Marj Nicholson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents, Gregory and Anna (née Huber) Fischer, siblings Jim Fischer (Doris), Lorraine Mousseau (Robert), Lucille Spielmacher (Lindsay), Art Fischer (Eileen), Laurette Maxwell (Jack), Hubert Fischer and Jack Fischer, father and mother-in-law, George and Margaret (née Grimoldby) Harkness and in-laws, Corinne Fischer, Karl Lang, Joe Brick, Audrey Johnston (Ross), Mary Huber (Fred), Ron Harkness, Ken Harkness, Glen Lippert and Richard Huber.

If given a choice, Paul Fischer would pick the treat that was the sweetest, whichever road made the drive longest, and whatever it was his grandkids wanted to do.  That’s why the fondest memories involve deer runs, ice cream, and sitting at arenas and ballparks.

Standing well over six feet tall, Paul was hard to miss in a crowd, whether it was at an auction, Lion’s Club, or walking “down street”.  Many knew him for his quick wit, turnip drop-offs and bake shop recommendations.

A private family graveside service will be held at Culross-Teeswater Cemetery in the spring.

Memorial donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, Easter Seals Ontario or a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
