Obituary of Doug Schiestel

Douglas Michael “Doug” Schiestel of Teeswater passed away peacefully at Wingham & District Hospital on Friday, September 2nd, 2016 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Janice Schiestel (Hopf) (née Curtis) of Teeswater. Survived by his son Terry Schiestel (Michelle) of Blyth, daughter Tammy Schiestel of Teeswater and grandchildren, Austin, Wyatt and Cheyenne Schiestel. Missed by brother Francis Schiestel (Juanita) of Teeswater. Dear brother-in-law of Jean Schiestel and Gilbert Kuenzig both of Teeswater. Fondly remembered by Jan’s family and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen Schiestel (née Mossey), sister Yvonne Kuenzig, brothers William Schiestel (Marilyn), Joe Schiestel and Ernie Schiestel and parents Alexander and Irene (née Willie) Schiestel. Doug had a passion for horses and was an avid horse trainer and owner. Private family arrangements entrusted to the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater. Final resting place Sacred Heart Cemetery, Culross Township. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or the Ontario Standardbred Adoption Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
