Obituary of Fred Gallant

John Frederick “Fred” Gallant of Teeswater, passed away peacefully at home, with family by his side, on Tuesday, November 29th, 2016, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Rita Gallant (née Houghton) of Teeswater. Loving father of Phil Gallant (Tishi) of Dunnville, Doug Gallant (Shirley) of Toronto, Gerry Gallant (Margaret) of Paisley, Kelly Clarke (Paul) of Ottawa and Ken Gallant of Owen Sound. Missed by 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Dear brother of Hilda McLean of Toronto, Sam Gallant (Sandra) of Burlington, George Gallant of Hamilton, Melvin Gallant (Florence) of Alberta and Wayne Gallant of Nova Scotia. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Simon and Alice (née Cook) Gallant, daughter Janet Buffett, brothers Joe Gallant (Liz), Walter Gallant (Genevieve), sisters Agnes McNeil (Andrews), Marcella McNeil (Joe), Lily Donovan (Gordon), brother-in-law Eddie McLean and sister-in-law Sharon Gallant. The memorial service to celebrate Fred’s life will held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Friday, December 2nd, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Ann Maycock officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Sacred Heart Church Building Fund, Teeswater would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
