Obituary of Leneita Statia

Leneita Gertrude Statia of Braemar Retirement Centre, Wingham passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 in her 93rd year. The former Leneita Blake, born in Neustadt, Ontario on December 15th, 1919 to the late George and Lena (Ficke) Blake. Dear mother of Elaine Bower and her husband George of Scarborough, Paul Statia and his wife Joyce of Wroxeter and Gail Wild and her husband Jim of Whitby. Missed by her grandchildren, Heather Parrott, Holly Ann MacMillan (Al), Wayne Moffat (Lisa), Kim Statia, Michelle Villeneuve (Rob), Kevin Statia (Kathy), Kendra Tiffin (Steve), Leanne Brewster-Wild (Hugh), Loralyn Hariprasad (Samuel) and Julie Carrier (Ian) and 18 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by her special companion and friend Thomas Chiovaro of Florida Also survived by Duncan Moffat of Kitchener, special niece Leona Belford (Wilson) of Erin and nephew Rick Rolstin (Cathy) of Oshawa and many other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Douglas Statia (1970), companions Ira McLean and Ross Doll, sister Verna Rolstin and her husband Arnold and infant great-grandson Josiah Brewster-Wild. Leneita was a Dietician at the Wingham & District Hospital for over 20 years. She enjoyed travelling and spending winters in Florida for many years.

Visitation

Tiffin Funeral Home - The funeral home can be accessed as usual from Clinton Street. However, due to the construction, you cannot enter Teeswater from the south end (towards Wingham). Therefore, please to travel to the funeral home using the detour currently in place on the east of the village. You will need to approach the funeral home from Hillcrest Street (Concession 6) and use Brownlee and Union Streets. Parking is available on both sides of Clinton Street near the funeral home. Thursday, October 18th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
