Obituary of Ken Waechter
Kenneth Joseph “Ken” Waechter of Walkerton, suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Friday, December 25th, 2020, at the age of 71. He is now fishing on the eternal shores.
Beloved husband of Catherine “Cathy” Waechter (née Benninger) who predeceased him on November 29th, 2018. He missed her deeply every day.
Dear father of Dwayne Waechter (Jacquie) of Brussels, Joanne Robertson (Dan) of Varney and Jeff Waechter of Walkerton.
Missed by his grandchildren, Tyler Robertson, Timothy Waechter, Tristan Waechter-Hayes, Derrick Waechter, Joshua Robertson and Kyle Robertson and great-granddaughter Blakley Waechter.
Remembered by his siblings, Geraldine Lehman (Edward) of Baden, Florence Lehman (Frank) of Kitchener, John Waechter (July 2021) (Sharon), Wally Waechter (Connie) and Alfred Waechter (Diane) all of Formosa.
Also survived by in-laws, Bob Weishar (Eileen) of Chepstow, Yvonne Benninger of Formosa, Lloyd Benninger of Blyth, Roseann Steffler (Len) of Cargill, Linda Weber (Lloyd) of Mildmay and Jerry Benninger (Pauline) of Formosa, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, co-workers and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marie (née Flachs) Waechter, sisters Margaret Weishar and Helen Miller, brothers-in-law, David Miller, David Cassidy and Carl Benninger and sister-in-law Jan Benninger.
Following Ken’s wishes, cremation took place. A Funeral Mass to honour his life will be held at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Formosa on Friday, October 1st, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., with Father Paul Edmondstone officiating.
Proof of Vaccination is not require to attend the Funeral Mass. However, all attendees must wear a mask and respect physical distancing protocols.
Final resting place Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery, Formosa.
