Obituary of Gerald Baptist
Gerald Russell Baptist of Durham and formerly of Teeswater, passed away at Rockwood Terrace, Durham on Sunday, August 21st, 2022, at age 90.
Beloved husband of the late Myrtle Baptist (Matheson) (née Simpson) who predeceased him on December 1st, 2020.
Survived by his family, Ed Matheson and his wife Brenda, Larry Matheson and his wife Karen, and Shirley Matheson and her husband Tom Gunn.
Missed by his grandchildren, Derek and Colby Matheson, Cynthia and David Roy, Jennifer and Jim McGillivray, Stacey and Dustin Brown, Andrew and Michelle Matheson, Amelia McCarthy and Derek Vokes, and James and Maureen McCarthy and great-grandchildren, William, Logan, Evelyn, Tatum, Alex, Kentaya, Alice, Clara, Jesse, Kiera, Mackenzie, Della and Charles.
Predeceased by his parents, Russell and Eileen (née Fisk) Baptist and brother Willard Baptist.
Visitation will be held at the Tiffin Funeral Home, Teeswater on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., followed by the service honouring Gerald’s life at 2 p.m., with Rev. Carel Grundlingh officiating.
Interment Culross-Teeswater Cemetery.
