Obituary of Jessie Sillick
Jessie Loretta Sillick, long-time resident of Teeswater, died peacefully in her 105th year at Braemar, Wingham, on April 29, 2023.
Beloved wife for 65 years of Lloyd, who died in 2014.
Jessie was born August 4, 1918 into the Thacker and Little families who were early settlers in Culross Township.
She was proud to be a graduate of the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in London, 1947.
Jessie is survived by her sons Terry of Teeswater and Ron (Ruth Ann) of Orillia; grandchildren Heather (Andrew) Cammaert, Jason (Jennifer) Sillick, Lise (Mark) Mancari, all of London, Jade Sillick McKenna (Mike McKenna) of Perth, and Hugh Sillick (Harue Kashiwagi) of Toronto; great-grandchildren Owen and Addison Cammaert, Kayla and Jacob Sillick, Grayson, Kayden and Myah Mancari, and Gavin and Corinne McKenna. Jessie also had a close connection with her niece, Julie Torrance, of Vancouver, daughter of Jessie’s sister, Ruth.
Predeceased by her sister Ruth (Rod) Torrance and sister-in-law Joan (Fred) Dupuis.
Jessie was an active member of Teeswater United Church, particularly the UCW and junior choir. She was a long-time bridge player and loved her back-deck flower gardening. Jessie and Lloyd loved to entertain and had many travels, including a trip to Australia to visit Jessie’s childhood penpal.
The family will be gathering later for a remembrance.
