Obituary of Lonzo Lucas
Lonzo Lucas Jr. of Barrie passed suddenly in Barrie on December 16th, 2014 at the age of 46. Lonzo was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, then moved to Georgia after his kidney transplant in 2004. His desire to travel took him to South Korea in 2009 to teach English. While in Korea, he met his soulmate, Karen, and he moved to Canada in 2010 to be with her. Lonzo earned his Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. He was an educator, adventurer, traveller, musician, author, and exceptionally talented painter and sculptor. He was actively involved in the Barrie Art Club and a past volunteer at Wye Marsh. Lonzo’s love of life and positive energy influenced everyone he met.
Beloved husband of Karen Whytock of Barrie; son of Lonzo Sr. and Margaret Lucas, brother of Bertram and Nicole Lucas and Aaron Lucas all of California. Son-in-law of Jim and Joan Whytock of Teeswater. Lovingly remembered by Ken, Suzanne and Tristan Whytock of Drumbo; Bruce, Carla, Sara, Rachel, Mya and Celeste Whytock of Grimsby, as well as many relatives and friends in Canada and the U.S.A.
