Joan, We've never met, but I join my brother Tom Gravelle in offering condolences from our branch of the Schefter family. I recall a number of happy visits to Lawrence Meyer's butcher shop in Teeswater, and of seeing Bob and Jim working in the family business. Bob would have been in his late teens then. That was so long ago.
My thoughts are with you and with Jim, Louise and all members of the Meyer family.

From first cousin Tom and wife Diane, from Portland Oregon, Tom originally from Ohio.
Our thoughts are with you Joan, as well as Jim, Anna, Jack, and all other of my Canadien family. I wish I could have made it there yesterday and today, but we are there in spirit.
I remember Bob and Joan, and "kids" at the time when my parents (Joe and Evelyn) would bring me up to Teeswater for visits when I was young. I remember the meat shop, the wonderful horse drawn buggies and even a sleigh I think.
From reading here about Bob, he was certainly involved in many worthwhile causes and truly made a difference in his life, I'm sure in no small part without your support, Joan. Thanks you for that for my cuz.
Again, there in spirit... cousin Tom

My sympathy to you Joan, Judy, Nancy, Larry and Tim
In my early years, Bob was not only my cousin he was a big brother to me and a man I had the greatest respect for all my life.
Bob taught me many things while growing up and one in particular was when you fall down you get right back up on that horse and never let them forget who is in charge. Over the years, this little bit of advise has served me well.
Bob will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Happy trails, Bob.

Dear Joan
I am a friend of your daughter, Nancy. I work part time at Dr. Max's dental office in Strathroy. I am blessed to know and love your beautiful daughter. My husband and I have also met Mark, her wonderful husband at our Christmas office dinners.
Your pain is great as you say goodbye to your wonderful husband, best friend, soul mate and kindred spirit.
Your husband is with you always. He and God will hold you up in your grief and wipe away your tears. Bob is by your side and he is only a whisper away. You will feel his love and comfort when you see the stars, the sun and rain and those special rainbows that touch the sky after rain and sun kisses the sky.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time.
Love Joanie and Bob McKinley

Larry, Michelle and Family
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Larry's father, Bob.
Larry and I spoke of him a number of times in the past little while.
These are days that both difficult and blessing.
Please know that I am sorry I cannot attend in person to pay my respects to you and the rest of the family, but I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers through the long hours and days ahead.
You will be much on my mind Friday as I travel to St Thomas to attend a family funeral myself and I wish for you all comfort and companionship, reassurance through the visits of Bob's many friends, and moments of quiet reflection.
Sincerely
Carol Phillips

My sympathy to you Joan and your family at your loss of Bob.
I will always remember his (and your) warmth and kindness toward my parents. In 2003 when I brought them to Teeswater it turned out to be a last time. Bob shared my dads love of horses and delighted dad by taking him to see his horse . He actually got it to put its head in the van door for my dad , Charles to pet. How kind of Bob and how delighted my dad was.

Joan, Judy, Larry, Nancy and Tim -
My heart goes out to all of you.
Bob was a friend of our family for many-many years. My father, Blair, cherished his friendship.
Bob was always so gracious to provide horse and carriage rides during our family reunions in Teeswater. Always so proud of his horses and their performance. Those carriage rides were the highlight of the Kelly Family Reunion. All of us looked forward to seeing Bob and, of course, his team of horses. He was the real deal...a true cowboy!
He will be missed by many.
Rest in peace Bob!
My deepest sympathy!
God Bless -

"Just Like Them Horses" (as sang by Reba McIntyre)
She held him close, then she kissed his face
He said it just has to be this way
Yours is the heart I'll always keep
I'm not gone even if I leave
If you love me, don't you be afraid
To look in my eyes and open up the gate
Then watch me ride beneath a newborn sun
Just like them horses
When it's time to run
He said, Chockie Mountain is calling me
Gonna take a walk up where I can see
Turn and face that western wind
Oh, and I'll be home again
If you love me, don't you be afraid
To look in my eyes and open up the gate
Then watch me ride beneath a newborn sun
Just like them horses
When it's time to run
Oh, just like them horses
She held his hand, he took one last breath
Then she walked out to the front porch step
Stared at the sky, tears on her face
And she swore she could hear him say
If you love me, don't you be afraid
To look in my eyes and open up the gate
Then watch me ride beneath a newborn sun
Just like them horses
When it's time to run
Just like them horses
When it's time to run
When it's time to run
When it's time to run
Now it's time to run
Just like them horses, ooh
Just like them horses
Oh, now it's time to run...
